Conservationists in Peru working to save the rare Humboldt penguin have new hope after two of the penguins have been born.
The penguins were born five months ago.
Officials kept the news secret to protect the birds from possible crowds.
The penguins will eventually be released to a nearby colony and will be monitored to see if they survive.
Their numbers have dropped dramatically because of warming waters, over fishing and habitat destruction.
