(KPNX) Phoenix, Arizona police have arrested a man in connection with a stolen vehicle that sped around the city for more than an hour on Thursday with a police helicopter and undercover cars following it.

The incident began when a Phoenix police officer tried to pull the burgundy Dodge minivan over.

The van "failed to yield to officers," said Sgt. Steve Martos, a spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department.

Officers began following the vehicle at approximately 1:20 p.m. as it drove from Phoenix to a trailer park in north Mesa, near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and back to Phoenix.

The van drove nearly an hour before it finally stopped near Tonto Street and First Avenue near St. Anthony Catholic Church, Martos said.
