(KUSA) A Colorado woman's kind gesture will bring smiles to hundreds of little girls' faces this Christmas.

When Mary Jo Fay's mother Betty Olson passed away this summer, she left behind hundreds of toy dolls. Betty had collected the dolls most of her adult life.

"She loved her dolls. It was her passion," Fay said.

Fay's siblings didn't know what to do with the dolls once Betty passed away. So, with the holidays in mind, she decided to donate hundreds of them to poor children around Colorado.

"Little kids don't understand the financial situation going on out there. They just understand there's Santa or there's not Santa. And I wouldn't want to be the kid who doesn't get Santa," Fay said.
