(KGW) The lone tree in Portland's smallest park vanished last week, leaving a gaping hole, according to Portland Parks and Recreation.

Mill Ends Park is only two feet in diameter, made up of just a small patch of grass, a few plants and the one tree. It's not only Portland's smallest park, but it's also listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's smallest park.

Officials with Portland Parks and Recreation said it appeared that someone yanked out the lone tree and took it. There was no word on any possible suspects in the case.

On Wednesday, park officials made repairs. They planted a small Douglas Fir sapling, at a cost of just $3.25.
