The Tulare County coroner has released the name of the man killed on Highway 99 near Traver.
Stephen Wallace was struck by a semi truck Monday morning on Highway 99 near Merritt Drive.
Witnesses told CHP officers a Honda was stopped along the right lane. When Wallace got out of the car, he was hit by a big rig truck and died.
CHP says the truck driver thought he had only blown a tire and kept going. He returned to the scene when he was contacted by officers.
Investigators have not indicated if the truck driver will be charged with hit and run.
