My Mother, Glennyce Cropper is an extraordinary woman! Not only is she an incredible mother, wife, daughter and grandmother of 12, she is also the exact definition of a mother who has strength, fortitude, determination, courage & endless love. She IS and always has been my very best friend, whom I go to first and foremost for EVREYTHING! An example of her fortitude & perseverance is demonstrated in my own personal beginnings.
I was born with Hypotonic Cerebral Palsy, leaving my entire body crippled like a rag doll. I was not diagnosed until finally after 72 doctors validated my mother’s concerns & assured her that something was definitely wrong! Her journey continued & so began her incredibly exhausting & difficult journey to making her daughter become as normal as possible.
Do to this very crippling disorder, I had communication disorders, sensory impairments, mental retardation & learning disabilities. My mom created a physical therapy room in her home & spent four hours every day in pattern therapy to strengthen my muscles & teach my brain motor development & coordination by moving around my legs, arms & entire body. Additionally, I attended a speech therapist for several years for my speech & language disorders. She also flew to Orange County weekly for additional special therapy.
I do not know another woman who would dedicate their entire life to rebuilding, re-teaching & providing all of the required tools in order to ensure that her daughter has the very best opportunities & confidence to achieve anything that was possible. Due to her dedication, I am a normal woman with no side affects! She is an amazing mother and my best friend!
