On June 3rd, 2011, my six year old son, Noah broke his arm while playing on his school's zip line. The supervising teachers brought him to me and I nearly passed out when I saw the bones protruding out of his skin. But Noah was a trooper. He did not scream. He did not panic. He looked me in the eyes and said, "I love you, Mommy." That kept me grounded.
I rushed him to the emergency room where they made an appt. for surgery at Children's Hospital the next day. He had two pins placed in both bones of his arms.
Throughout the entire ordeal, Noah was truly "incredibe". He was brave and positive. When the nurses wheeled him out of the recovery room, he was waving like he was in a limo on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood!]
What a way to start your summer. No swimming (he's on the local swim team!), no trampoline and, really, no fun. Have I heard him complain? Not once. He's handled this unfortunate situation maturely and that makes Noah an incredible kid.
