Hi Everyone, Every day starting at about 5:30 in the morning I have Robins that keep flying into the windows over and over. I'm not sure if they are drunk on berries or if something else is going on. Many of my windows have berry stains all over them from the robins flying into them with berries. Any ideas on what's going on or what I should do? Also, anyone else in Fresno having the same problem?

My grandma has a group of birds that come every single year at the same time and eat berries off of her trees in the front yard and then you guessed it... fly into the window! It's happened for years and years so we just attribute it to the berries.

You mentioned you found some type of berries at your door. If the berries are pyracantha, they are intoxicating and can cause the birds to get 'high'. There were pyracantha bushes on HWY 99 and CalTrans removed them because birds were hitting cars!

I believe the bird is attacking its reflection. A Blue Jay keeps hitting my windows starting early in the morning. When I saw a bird attacking a rearview mirror, I realized what was happening.

We were having a similar comedy here at our place. It turned out to be a reflection during certain times of the day that the bird would see thinking it was another "like" bird. He kept running into it over and over. It is mating season after all.

The bird is seeing it's reflection. It is breeding season and he thinks he is fighting off a competitor. Cover the window with a piece of screen or something before the bird breaks its neck!!!!
