What they do to my mom's backyard?

my 85 year old mother, just had her first new house built. this is how the contractors left the backyard(some stuff has been moved off). they took out two trees and destroyed the grass. there are no flowers to be seen. tried to plant a new tree and it died on us. this yard definitely needs some help.
