As they say "spring has sprung," especially in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Foothill wildflowers are slowly disappearing while a few miles up the road, towns like Mariposa, open all year, are just clearing the winter cobwebs and freshening up for the spring and summer travel seasons.
Mountain flowers, like those on the Dogwood Trees, are just beginning to open. Also open are roads in Yosemite National Park like the Mariposa Grove and Glacier Point roads.
Take a drive this weekend to Historic Mariposa, Yosemite or other mountain destinatons. Who knows what gas will cost next weekend.
More Than Wildflowers Open in Foothills
