My name is Jean Booth, I am almost 83 years young, and I live in Sanger, CA by myself after the passing of my husband Ben Booth. My husband was a WW II, disabled U.S. Marine veteran of some of the largest campaigns of the war. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp on Saipan, Tinian and fought in the battle at Iwo Jima. Prior to his death I was very fortunate that he was able to help me with the landscape and maintenance of our current home and garden. He too enjoyed gardening, and having a nice yard. Today it is very difficult for me to keep up the backyard garden; I love to plant seasonal flowers and keep my garden spot a meditation spot. Unfortunately, I cannot do the things I once could do. The grass in the yard is dying and I am not sure why, I would like to replant the grass and would like to find out why it will not grow well. I would appreciate your consideration of my entry and hope you can help me with my Backyard Makeover.
