Buchana Families take Air Boat ride through the swamps of Louisiana

Buchanan Bears get a couple of day off

The Buchanana Bears 10's Cal Ripken All Star baseball team get a well deserved couple of days off after defeating Williamette Valley, Oregon 10-4, Harris Township, Indiana 3-1, and Branchburg, New Jersey 8-0 in the Cal Ripken World Series in Abbeville, Louisiana. The Bears continue play in the winner's bracket final vs. West Raleigh, North Carolina on Wednesday, August 13th at 5:30pm (PDT).

On one of their days off, the team, family, and friends took in some of Louisiana's well known Swamp Areas. An Air Boat ride through the swamps was simply outstanding and once in a lifetime opportunity for these boys and their families from the dry Central Valley of California.

On the way back they visited Avery Island, the founding area of world famous Tabasco pepper sauce. The team took the grand tour of the factory and were educated on the history of the founding family and development of the Tabasco brand world wide. Tabasco is an Indian word that means the "land of the Hot and Humid." How about that?
