The Buchanan Bears 10's Cal Ripken ran into a buzzsaw. Jake Wilson standing close to 5'3" threw consistantly in the high 50's to low 60's and at times in the high 60's. He mowed down the 1st 5 Bears he faced and finished striking out 9 in only 4 innings of work. With the Bears 1st loss of the tournament they will now move to the loser’s bracket and have to beat Branchburg, New Jersey to stay in the hunt for a National Title. The winner of tomorrow night’s game at 4pm (PDT) will play West Raleigh for the World Series Championship. Buchanan or Branchburg would have to beat West Raleigh twice to claim the title on Friday, August 15th.

Scoring:
West Raleigh Bottom 1st:
Cory Wood leads off with a walk and one out later, Stephen Scott reached on a fielder’s choice with Wood being put out at second for the second out. Ryan Jeffers walked to put
runners at first and second for Jake Wilson. Both runners advanced a base on a passed ball. Wilson walked to load the bases. Michael Carrieri walked to score Scott for the first run of the game. Alex Simpson got an infield hit to make the lead 2-0.

West Raleigh Bottom 2nd:
Nicholas West walked to lead off the inning and Wood double to put runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs. With one out Stephen Scott popped out to Williams, now playing 1st base, who made a spectacular diving catch up against the fence for out number 2, however, West tags up on the play and scores. West Raleigh 3-0

West Raleigh Bottom 4th:
Wood leads off with a double down the left field line. Cory Gensler reached on an infield hit on
a bunt to put runners at the corners. Gensler stole second
to put runners at second and third. Scott doubles off the centerfield wall to score both runners to put West Raleigh20up 5-0 with no outs. One out later, Wilson singled up the middle to score Scott.
West Raleigh 6-0.

Buchanan Top 5th:
DJ Martinez leads off with a double for Buchanan. Mitchell Souza grounds out to first for the first out and Martinez moves to third. Marcus Cummins with an infield hit on a bunt to put runners at the corners for Buchanan. Kyle Wynn grounded out to second for the second out as Martinez scores for Buchanan.
West Raleigh 6-1.

West Raleigh Bottom 5th:
Will Baldwin and Will Collins both walk to put runners at 1st and 2nd. Cory Wood gets his 3rd hit of the game and plates Baldwin. Gensler grounds out to score Collins and Scott grounds out to scores Wood.

West Raleigh 9-1.
