This game was a third-round rematch which Buchanan won by a score of 8-0.

After a silent 1st inning the Bears erupted for 7 runs in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd and 6 in the 4th to rout the All Stars from Branchburg, New Jersey. This was the 2nd victory over Branchburg outscoring them 23-0 in 2 games. With this victory the Bears have advanced to the Championship match up with West Raleigh, North Carolina. W. Raleigh defeated the Bears on Wednesday in the winner’s bracket final 9-1.

The Bears scored in bunches. Highlights of the 2nd were consecutive hits by Souza and Marcus Cummins and 1 out later, consecutive doubles by Arruda, Gambrell and Cory Williams that scored 3 runs. A sacrifice fly by Casillas scored another and Souza’s 2nd single of the inning score 1 more.

In the Branchburg 2nd, Casillas on the mound for the Bears was masterful striking out the side on 13 pitches.

The Bears’ 4th inning was highlighted by Martinez’ 3-run HR, in which Buchanan broke a World Series Tournament record for Team HR with 4 (Williams 2, Gambrell 1, Martinez 1). Gambrell is credited with 4 RBI’s on the day which gives him 8 for the tournament also a tournament record.

The Bears need to defeat West Raleigh twice Friday in order to claim the National Title. First game is slated for 3:30 PDT with the 2nd game
