My Dad, Emanuel Carter, has lived his lifelong dream for the last 12 years. However, health issues has changed his life this last year. My Dad is 87 years of age, and has middle stage dementia, and is residing in a Nursing Facility in Bakersfield, Ca. Prior to March 2007 he was caring for his 80 acres in Oklahoma, breeding horses, buying and selling cattle. Sadly, he is confined to 24 hour care, and having great difficulty with the change. He has shed a bucket full of tears for his horses. We have him in a Daycare program to occupy his time. However, the main topic of his conversation is always about the horses. As we placed grandchildren pictures on the bulletin board in his room, he was busily gathering all the pictures of his horses to add to the board. Needless to say, we made plenty of room for all of his "horsey" pictures. One of the workers at the Nursing Facility even made a picture to add to his horse collection. I would love to purchase at least 2 of his favorite horses, and get them to California. The dream of my life is to see the smile on his face when he gets to see and hug them again. If I found a magic lamp, my very first wish would be to bring joy back in his life. Now you know the reason I want to be on Deal or No Deal.
