The ploy of the UCLA Football PR Department worked very well this past week. I'm sure they have had less success placing ads in other opponents home town newspapers so what the heck. Why not Fresno?
What they didn't know was that the Fresno State Bulldogs territory covers more than just Fresno. Who knew the whole Central Valley of California and Sierra Foothill communities would show up at the Rose Bowl Saturday in a not so dry heat?
The Dog Pound (north end zone) seating was full early on and excited fans waited patiently for the rest of the Rose Bowl to fill with BLue. When the first whistle sounded to start play the stands were filled with more Red mixed with Blue. Imagine that!
Have heart Bruin PR experts; I'm sure if you place a similar ad in the LA TImes prior to the USC game they will fill the Bowl for you as well.
Thanks again. We were there, got the photos and the WIN to prove it.
We Were There; Thank You Very Much!
