Waiting for Santa

Waiting for Santa

Every year, Christmas Eve starts out celebrating in Orange Cove with one set of grandparents and family then we move on the Parlier to celebrate with other set of grandparents and family. My family usually does not arrive back home in to Exeter until after 1:00 a.m. Christmas morning. Our kids always spend the night at my parents' house on the 23rd, so this give my husband and I a chance to get our living room ready with sleeping bags, pillows and blankets waiting for our kids. My husband gets the fireplace ready to be lit up for the morning. We try our best not to forget the cookies and milk for Santa Claus. Our kids are so exhausted, as both my husband and I, that they just automatically crawl under the blankets and sleeping bags. Then my husband gets the fire going before our children are woken up to stockings already filled and presents waiting under the tree. My husband and I have continued this tradition ever since our first child, who is now 18 years old, was born. We hope to continue this tradition for many more years to come, since our youngest of our four children is only 6 years old.
