Who would have thought that a Sicilian farmer would come to Fresno and fashion a home underground.
Not just a home, but an entire orchard, cut from the very unyielding hardpan that thwarted his dreams of making his fortune by plantinng citrus groves.

Yeh, I have never understood why we don't have more basements in this town. It is a natural way to cool off without having to spend a fortune on air conditioning. Why don't more use this method? Why not put shopping malls underground?
