On Friday, May 15, 2009 at 7pm, Milan Institute, a vocational school located in Clovis, CA, will hold a graduation ceremony for over 50 graduates. The graduating class consists of students who have completed the Cosmetology, Medical Assisting and Massage Therapy programs. The school will honor graduates who have achieved 100% attendance or a 4.0 GPA with a list notation. Maxine Fuentes, a 5-time National Personal Best Winner at the J.C. Penney Salon chain, will be delivering the commencement speech. The event will be held at the Clovis Veterans Memorial Center in Clovis, CA.
The Commencement Speaker Maxine Fuentes has 49 years of cosmetology experience. During her time as a cosmetologist at the Fresno J.C. Penney Salon, she annually exceeded one million dollars in revenue for the past 9 years. She has given numerous guest presentations at the Milan Institute Clovis campus, where she has gained the respect of the students and is well-liked for her engaging teaching style. She will be joined at the podium with Milan student speakers Michelle Martinez and Leslie Portillo.
Roger Cranmer, Director of Milan Institute, was especially proud of the graduating class. “Our graduates have worked hard for this moment,” states Roger Cranmer. “Many of our students are single parents and had to attend school part time while they continued to work to support their family.
