Carl's story - We live in an oven; our hot San Joaquin Valley; why not cook in the oven? I use the magic of the sun to grill, bake and roast. First I bought a solar cooker. Then I built a solar oven. Then I built a super cooker/griller out of an old satellite dish. 4-8 Chicken Thighs. Remove skin, rinse and pat dry with paper towels. Coat chicken with olive oil. Sprinkle on the Pappy's and roll chicken in crushed cornflakes. Cook on solar dish cooker for 15 minutes on each side, place in solar oven in covered dish and roast for one more hour. Boil corn on the cob on solar dish cooker. Serve with a salad and top it off with solar baked brownies. This solar cooked meal is easy to prepare, fun to cook and delicious to eat.

Thank you for asking. In theory some parabolic solar cookers can get to 800' F. I have measured mine a 398' F. It averages 350' F. It heats up pans just like cooking on a stove top.

Now that's really cooking! No cost for electricity, propane or charcoal and there's no smoke and no greenhouse gas. Do you sell plans for building your solar cooker or did you buy it already made? How hot does it get?
