Fresno P.D. sign in parking lot

Barney's Towing Predatory Business Pract

My wife and I attended the FSU-SJSU football game at Bulldog Stadium on Saturday 10/17. We parked in Popeye's lot because of its proximity to the stadium. My wife has MS, so walks with a cane and has a CA parking placard llowing her to park in most places. The FPD sign in the lot accentuates this. We returned at 1030PM to an empty lot: Barney's Towing had illegally towed our car. I spoke to him multiple times. He insisted that we were parked illegally and so had the right to tow our vehicle. I finally paid him $357.50 (and a $30 cab ride to the remote storage yard) to get my car at midnight.

The owner of the Popeye's franchise, "Alan", said that he has had many complaints about this, and so has the adjacent Jack in the Box and Wendy's. Online, I read of complaints about Barney's predatory business practices.

Minimum, I want a total refund of $387.50 from Barney's; additionally , I want to see him lose his license or, at least, have his business practices investigated. Joe Mariscal, Alameda CA 510-523-1475

Not saying the towing company's right but come on. Pay like everyone else. That parking lot is for customers and if they didnt tow cars there would be no parking for anyone. and they wouldnt make any money. Just put yourself in the owners shoes.

The walk to the stadium is a good one, but if you can make it down to the game you don't need to have speacial treatment. They charge all over that area for parking why should you get speacial treatment, Did Fresno ST offer you speacial parking? NOT

that the sign above was not in Popeye's Parking lot. Instead there was a signs at every entrance that stated For Popeye's Customers only. If you had went inside you would see about two to three signs warning customers not to leave your car there.

I believe that the tow companies have overstepped their bounds with regards to their fees. Basically if Joe would not have had the 357 dollars, They would have charged so much for daily storage that it would soon be impossible to get the car back.
