Alison is amazing and incredible is so many ways! In her 10 years of life she has had three heart surgeries, 3 stomach surgeries, and many other procedures, tests, and hospitalizations. Recently she was diagnosed with Plastic Bronchitis, a super rare side effect of her last heart surgery, the Fontan. This condition creates super thick mucus that plugs her lungs (in a nutshell). She was removed from school in Oct. 2009 and continues her work at home along with two nebulizer treatments two to three times daily, heart medications, asthma medication, and vest air clearance system. It seemed as though her life as a child was taken away from her. She has prevailed against the odds stacked against her living her life to the fullest! She has maintained Gold Honor Roll, continues to have an inspiring out look everyday, knowledgeable about her condition, and an absolute joy to be around! She amazes the doctors at Childrens Hospital, inspires her friends and family and is so wise beyond her years. We are so priveleged to know and LOVE "Amazing Alison" the most incredible child!
