Learning to walk again after his accident

Miracle Matt

When Matthew was 9 he suffered a severe brain injury. He spent 6 weeks at VCH and came home under to talk, walk, eat. He was bedbound and needed a wheelchair to get around. He was unable to attend school.....he has worked incredibly hard in rehabilitation. Going to therapy twice a day. He is now running, talking, eating independently. He is back in school, but still attending therapy several times a week. Throughout this whole ordeal his has maintained such a positive attitude and a smile that could light up a room. He has worked harder than anyone I know. Although he is currently 11 years old he deserves this honor. I would love to acknowledge his accomplishments. During this he also collected change as a change bandit, he donated $1,500.00 to the hospital this year.
Sincerely,
Sherri Taffera (one amazed mom!)

Matthew is the greatest cousin I could ask for. Most kids would have struggled greatly when put into a situation like this. Not my cousin, he accomplishes everything he sets his mind to. I love him so much. He truley is a miracle<3
